About Shalonda



Maryland Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Shalonda Brown is  a faith based therapist grounded in Psychodynamic  and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, specializing in overcoming past hurts and shame.   She practices utilizing a holistic, integrative approach,  focusing on the importance of helping individuals gain insight into the origins and meaning of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.


Shalonda earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Human Services from the University of Central Oklahoma.  Shalonda obtained a Master of Social Work Degree from Howard University.  Throughout her post graduate studies,  Shalonda attended the Washington School of Psychiatry and The Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy.  Shalonda continues to stay current in the  field of mental health through professional training and continuing education.


Shalonda strengthened her clinical experience as a therapist at The Affiliated  Sante Group, Christian Counseling Center of Annapolis and Safe Harbor Christian Counseling.   Shalonda has experience counseling women, men, children, aging adults, veterans, military families, and displaced populations .


When Shalonda is not practicing, she enjoys cooking, exploring nature, fitness and spending time with her husband and three children.  Shalonda considers it an honor to serve others and her ministry to foster healing.
